about

The following blurb was written by Jamobo, huge shoutout to them for putting into words what I had a hard time doing, and encapsulating perfectly what this album is.

"Silent Places reads like an appreciation of the wordless moments in our lives. Brief minutes or even just seconds that feel far more powerful when absent of voice or thought

This album is filled with dreamy electronics, whether they be pads, synth lines, fluttering arpeggios or skittering drum patterns. It slides, almost seamlessly, between pure atmosphere & ambience and far more energetic Techno and Drum & Bass inspired tracks, capturing both the meditative relaxation and intense joy of a moment of true connection with nature.

It doesn't represent anything ground-breaking or life changing, but takes solace in the comfort it offers its listeners. A warm blanket on a cold day, a bowl of soup when you're ill, ice cream when it's hot outside or listening to your favourite song when you're down. All obvious choices, but obvious for a reason and while Silent Places does use pretty standard textures and structures, it does so with enough finesse and love that it's hard not to enjoy."

The content here has been in the works for over a year, and it's extremely satisfying to finally call it done.

This album is a bit of a departure from Sense of Space. I feel like the cover does a great job of describing the music inside. The inspiration behind a lot of these tracks was much less rooted in space and instead rooted in more natural things like water along the shore, a cold mountain wind, a rainy night, etc. That's not to say that the space influence is gone completely. I like to think that this album spends its time staring up into the empty night sky.

This is Silent Places. I hope you enjoy. :)
